How do you deliver your message
• In person
• On the phone
• In video
• Using webinars or tele-classes
• To groups big or small
Either way, you may wondering to yourself, “I really don’t know if I need help with the way I present my business, or not?”
We’re sure you’re doing a fine job.
However, you don’t want to underestimate the enormous impact that better skills can have in this area of your business. Consider this, improving your skills simply in booking…
• More 1st appointment
• Consultations
• Initial sessions
• Speaking engagements
…can all DRAMATICALLY & single-handedly improve your profits.
This is commonly overlooked, and is one of the simplest ways to generate cash FAST!
Even just improving the way you start your talk, meeting, or presentation will impact how much people buy-in to what you’re saying, and how much business you close at the end!.
And becoming more skillful at offering your services across the table, on video, or from the stage, will clearly boost your closing ratio! So here are 3 ways to dramatically improve your presentations FAST!
TIP #1: Ask for the right type of constructive feedback from people you trust.
Constructive feedback is not as common as you might think, as people generally LOVE to dole out LOTS of advice on how you can change just about anything.
Be sure to ask for feedback, in a very specific way, only from people you trust.
“Please tell me THREE THINGS I did well that I should keep doing (or do more), in order to improve my results. Then, tell me the one thing you noticed that if I improved it, would have the greatest, positive impact on my presentation.”
Tip #2: Record your next presentation.
My private clients record their presentations for me, and its a great way to get a “real world” picture of how we’re presenting. You can record your phone consultations, cold calls, initial sessions, meetings, sales presentations and workshops, speaking engagements.
If you haven’t done this before, you might be a little shocked by what you hear.
Dale Carnegie famously said, “There are always three speeches, for every one you actually gave. The one you practiced, the one you gave, and the one you wish you gave.”
Listen to the recording yourself, as you will immediately be surprised by some of what you hear! Sometimes its a pleasant surprise and others times not so much, and either way its great learning..
Tip #3: Get a Coach to Help Give You the Shortcuts to Success!
I mentioned to you all that last week I got to hear Harvey Mackay speak, and even had the chance to meet him. I was not surprised to hear that he has a speaking coach. (In fact he has a coach for just about everything he wants to do well.)
You can go it alone, but its a long and painful path, and its just not necessary! So while you don’t need to work with me, I do suggest you work with the right person for you.
Be sure to find a coach who can help you amplify your message, craft it in a way that converts, and deliver it in a compelling manner that connects and grabs people’s attention. Its doesn’t matter if you talking one on one, online in video, or to groups from the stage. You’re ability to speak your mission is critical to your success!
A good coach will:
• make sure you know exactly what your strengths are
• point out where you might need to improve to jumpstart results
• tell you the hard truths others might not
• challenge you to leap up to the next level
• encourage you to keep going when you want to give up
• help keep your actions in alignment with your greater goals and dreams
So grab your coach, record your next talk, and get constructive feedback on your next presentation. It WILL make the difference between good, and PROFITABLE!
Until we meet again…
Remember to speak your message and your mission in a way that converts more paying clients.
Serve your purpose in a bigger, brighter way.
Grow your business, do what you love ,and make more money!
Be well!
