GREAT Video: Life = Risk

I was recently reminded of this video and wanted to share with all of you in case you missed….or in case your heart needs reminding.

You are not who people say you are.
You are not the labels placed on you by yourself, or others.
You are not your past.
And its never too late to step into your full purpose.

Ways to Improve Your Memory

Lots of things affect your memory. Of course memory training is a HUGE asset and is the fastest easiest ways to ramp up your recall!

That being said, your lifestyle also has an impact on how quickly and easily you can remember all the things that are important to you!

Are you getting enough rest?
Water?
Going through hormonal changes?
How’s your diet?

There are many foods that have been shown to improve brain function and memory. So be sure to eat lots of healthy foods. (we have a free report being added to the memory training page!) A new study shows that blueberries can have an impact on your memory too!

Check out what blueberries can for for your memory!

Stay on Track and Hit Your Goals!

Many people ask me, “Kristin, how do I maintain focus when it comes to hitting my goals, when there are so many distractions during the day?” Do I need a time management system? Do I need an assistant?

That’s a good question. It can be a challenge to remain true to your goals and your schedule when so much is coming at you, unexpected surprises. And after the glow of the new year wears off, surfing the web and chatting at the coffee pot can become more alluring than hitting the phones and sending out appointment reminders.

So what can you do?

I want to offer you one of my favorite, quick-fix tips from our Plan to Win Workshop. It is also the one that I get the most flack for….which to me means it must be pretty good. ūüėČ

There are some people that LOVE this idea, and others really get irked. That tells me that somewhere this is hitting a button, and so it must really be necessary.

This tip is simple. Anyone can do it. And it takes only 60 seconds MAX. What’s not to like?

For those of you who dive in (remember that speed of implementation is a common trait among highly successful people) you will find great reward for making such a small change in behavior, but isn’t that what success is about?

Highly successful people do not necessarily work harder or longer than you do. Highly successful people are WILLING TO WORK DIFFERENTLY.

What are you willing to do to hit your goals? If you are willing to following this VERY SIMPLE tip, I will be curious to hear what it does for you.

21 Day Action Plan to Stay on Track to Achieving Your Goals:
Simply set an alarm on your phone (or computer if it is always with you) to go off every hour. Before you freak out, realize it does not have to be the Dukes of Hazzard horn. It just needs to be something that will get your attention likely a single buzz, bing, ring or vibration will be enough.

When you hear the alarm ask yourself one question. It is the single most important question you can ask yourself to get greater results this year.

Is what I am doing right now
getting me closer or farther away from my goals?

The great news is that since the alarm sounds once an hour you can never get too far off track, you have an easy out of long conversations (Sorry, I have another commitment to get to). It is a gentle nudge to help you get back on track.

It will also serve as a way to catch yourself doing something right!

So when the alarm sounds, if you ARE doing what you scheduled yourself to do, you ARE sticking to your plan for the day, be sure to take a moment and give yourself KUDOS for staying true to your goals and dreams.

Give this a try for 21 days and see what your new habit does for your business. Let us know!

Who are you on Dec. 31st 2010?

If you are like me, and most of my clients, you are hardworking, highly professional, good at what you do and super hard on yourself.

Most highly successful people are, and sometimes this can stand in our way. And a great way to assure that you achieve your goals, is to maintain your focus and motivation.

Being hard on yourself is a double edge sword. At some point in my life I realized that my own nervous nature is part of what made me successful. I rarely get too comfortable. I rarely get too full of myself. I rarely fail to think “is this good enough?” and “How can I make it better?”.

Equally as beneficial is the ability to see yourself as fully realized, as doing everything right, as the person you want to be.

So I want all of us to take ten minutes to focus on your biggest goal for 2010. I want to step into the future and be the person who has already achieved that goal.

  • What did you do to get there?
  • Who helped & supported you?
  • How do you feel?
  • What other good things came along as a result of accomplishing your goal?
  • What qualities do you have that helped you succeed?

Find a quiet place where you can sit uninterrupted for 10 minutes. Set a timer or alarm on your phone or computer and reflect on how you feel, having accomplished your goal.

Who are you by the end of 2010 and what great things have you done?

A Happy New Year & Happy New Ways to fire up your business!

Holy smokes! Its 2011!

Whoo-hoo! I hope you are as fired up about this year as I am. And if you’re not, let’s see what we can do to start your engines! The big question is:

What do you need to do to double your joy, or your income in 2011? Please shoot me an email with your thoughts! I really want to know!

This week, we’re excited to be hosting a private Presentation Gravity workshop a few select clients. So I wanted to give you one of the tips I’ll be sharing to help you power up your sales this year! If you have found that not enough people say “yes!” to meeting with you, or that they say “yes”, and then later cancel, then you’ll want to keep reading. You’ll find this to be quite helpful (and probably quite profitable) in 2011!

One of the most common problems I see happening with my coaching clients is that they have no true sales process or system in place. They book a meeting but they don’t “prepare it” for success. I have found in my own personal experince that preparing your prospect properly (or not) can mean the difference of thousands in rewards (or loss).

So a typical “sales process” might be:

1) call a prospect

2) book a sales presentation or speaking engagement

3) go deliver it

If this is what you are doing, and you are not “rolling” in results, then pay close attention to what I am about to reveal because it is simple AND a game changer.

Booking an opportunity / appointment / speech is not “winning the game” just gets you “IN the game”. So consider that the beginning of the event, not THE MAIN EVENT. Now your job begins. So what happens next? Shift your thinking to a three step process. 1) Focus on what you do prior to your presentation. 2) what do you do during the presentation. 3) how to do follow up afterward.

1) Prior to the presentation your #1 goal is to build three critical things: trust, rapport, and excitement. These are three things that will help book more meetings and keep more meeting on your calendar. Remember that once your prospect says yes to meeting with you and hangs up the phone, they are sent back into the big bad world, and anything can happen. So protect your investment!

Review the way you approach your appointment confirmation, your pre-appointment research, and your appointment reminders. (if these things aren’t in your sales process yet, stay tuned as we share more information in the coming weeks) and look for ways to solidify your expert status, create connection, and build their anticipation for your meeting.

2) During the presentation your #1 goal is to educate, engage, and enlighten your audience (of one or many). Educate your prospect on your area of expertise. Engage and entertain so that they can fully absorb your message. Finally, your job is to enlighten your prospect about what they still need to know or gain. What is still missing? This provides the opportunity for you serve them even further through your products or services.

3) After the presentation your goal is to continue the relationship. You can do this through follow up calls, customer service, additional offers, newsletter, articles and other educational pieces.

One of the best follow up’s I have ever seen is CD’s baby order thank you email. I won’t reprint it all here but it starts like this:
“Your CD has been gently taken from our CD Baby shelves with‚Ä®sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.
A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure
it was in the best possible condition before mailing.
Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over‚Ä®the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.”

The GREATEST ever. Love it. Its makes me want to raise my game, and I hope it does the same for you!

I am so excited to see what you accomplish in 2011! Its your year to power up your results and step your business into the spotlight!

I’m addicted to sugar…are you?

So you may already be wondering to yourself “what the heck does sugar have to do with growing my business?”

In my opinion, a lot.

I am a sugar junkie.¬† Maybe more or less in another person’s eyes. I can only tell you that for me, this relationship has gone a bit too far. I’m motivated to re-balance my eating habits for three major reasons.
1. My Family
2. My Health
3. My Business

Of course my success (or failure) in any one of these areas affects the others. So I can’t sacrifice my health for my work. I can’t sacrifice my family for my health. They all must work together in harmony.

Back to sugar. If you haven’t already heard the bad news about refined sugar, its notso hotso for ya.

Refined Sugar is linked to:
Arthritis
Allergies and Chronic Sinusitis
Migraines
Auto Immune Disorders
Cancer!!!!
Anxiety and Depression
Skin Damage (that’s the polite way to say WRINKLES!)
and more.

My life is focused on staying energized, motivated, and maintaining an attitude with some altitude. And thus begins my journey to break my addiction to sugar. Feeling tired, sick, suffering from allergies and sinus problems affects every major of my life. Even if its a minor irritant…it is there. Slowing me down. Dragging on my momentum. And I don’t like it. So now I am telling it, “GET OUT OF MY WAY!”

Today is day 3. I have dumped the candies and gummy bears and soda, and there is an angry monster inside of me begging me “FEEEEEEED ME!”

Right now, I am having fun telling it to buzz off, because I have bigger and better things to focus on.

I want to be here for my son, as long as I can.
I want to be happy and bursting full of life’s energy.
I want to do my best to treat my body the way it deserves.
I want to be a strong role model for our son, Gavin.
I want to be an energetic, motivating, inspirational speaker and instructor for my friends and clients.

So now I ask you…
What is standing in your way, slowing you down?
What can you free yourself from that will lighten your load, and energize your year?

Get Ready to Get Going in 2010!

Have you already planned your goals for 2010?

We go into far greater detail about the successful components to goal setting, time management, and achievement in our Plan to Win workshop, and in the meantime, these three tips will help get you started toward hitting your goals in 2010!

Get Out of Your Head!
Thinking about your goals is a good idea. However, writing your goals down on paper is an even better one! Be sure to take a moment before Jan. 1st to write your goals and dreams on paper.

Why bother?
The process of writing your goals down will help give you greater clarity, might cause you to consider other goals or steps you hadn’t considered, and also takes your goal from the intangible realm of your mind, into¬† a tangible reality– something you can read, touch, see.

There have been plenty of studies that prove that when you write your goals down in specific terms, you are FAR more likely to reach them. So its well worth it!

Go Public
Another great way to assure that you achieve your goals is to announce them to your friends and associates. Once you have “gone public” you’ll be far less likely to push back deadlines, change your goal, or make other allowances we might give ourselves, if we thought no one was looking.

Imagine the difference between deciding quietly to yourself that you are going to lose 40 pounds. Or going on national television and saying you will show up on May 1st 40 pounds lighter. Which do you think would lead to greater results?

So do yourself a favor and shine a spotlight on yourself, you be thankful when you see the results!

BOMBARD YOUR MIND WITH YES!
Next I want you to consider waging warfare on your own mind. Not the bad kind….the kind that fills your mind with positive, uplifting thoughts.

Turn your goals into positive affirming statements.

So turn:
“I will lose 40 pounds by May 1st”
Into:
“I am 40 pounds lighter by May 1st and I feel great!”

Post your goal affirmation everywhere you will see it. On the bathroom mirror, at your desk, on your nightstand.

Say it out loud while you are brushing your teeth every morning, while you drive to work, on your way home. Try it for 30 days and see what happens!

Setting a goal is only step of the process, but the journey can amazing and the feeling of achieving your goal will be even better!
