Everyone gets stuck from time to time, it usually happens when we get stuck in our head, and forget that ACTION is the way out. And that’s where I come in! I am here to help real people get rocking results! Here are 4 key things you need to get clients in the first place: Be good at what you do. Be highly visible. Have a strong offer. Have a way for people to say yes. Now how to do you go out and get those clients? Here are 5 fast ways to attract a rockin client in the next 7 days or less. 1. Use your “Opportunity Eyes” In my past life, I was a media consultant for top-rated stations like NBC. And this tip is how I won awards for NEW BUSINESS SALES at every major station I worked at over the the years. Look at people in your client list, or contact list with an eye for opportunity. Do you have an idea or way to help someone? Maybe you’ve been dreaming you could work with this person, or uplevel the way you work with them. Reach out and suggest a quick chat, to discuss some of the hot ideas you’ve been cooking up for them. WARNING: Do not approach people with unsolicited advice, or “accidental insults” about what you think they are doing wrong. Approach your prospective client with a spirit of enthusiasm for their business and excitement about your idea and how it might add to what they are doing well already! 2. Send a Client Getting Email The first time I did this, I got 2 new private clients immediately. Within 48 hours. So don’t mock it just because its simple. It works when done right. Simple send a plain text email to your list. Focus on common challenges your clients are struggling with, and how you can help them turn it around. Let people know how many coaching spots you have available. Maybe even make a special offer for fast responders. Make it easy for them to say yes, with a clickable link they can email you the request, or click a link to set their appointmentimmediately using something like Timetrade. 3. Host a free teleclass One of the best ways to get clients is show people that you’re great at what you do! Host a free teleclass or webinar and give value, create a connection between you and your clients and followers, and let prospective clients know what its like to work with you! (WARNING: Be sure you have an offer within your class, even if its a free offer for a consultation or one-on-one coaching session to enroll them into a paid program) 4. Speak for free Reach out to local organizations, networking groups, and associations, and give a rockin talk that gives great value, serves, and makes it clear to people how they can move forward with you. I’ve had several clients recently fill their programs off just ONE TALK and leave with referrals to more speaking gigs too! So get out there and start rockin your talk & your biz! 5. Promote a $97 or less Program Adding a low-priced (under $100) audio program can be a great lead magnet. Take your best 1-2 hours of audio training (or jump on instant teleseminar this week and create one!) and start promoting it in your newsletter, facebook and to prospective clients. Its a great, low risk way for them to check you out, fall in love, andwant more! This easy to implement strategy alone generated over $14,000.00 for us in first quarter. Ready for more customized help building your business? Click here to fill out a quick questionnaire, and schedule an initial breakthrough session with Kristin and find out which of our programs is the right fit to help get you where you want to go.

Here’s the thing… the truth is (and this is about to get real so take a breath) some people don’t want you to shine. Your success disrupts their world. They’d like you to be the underdog. The sidekick. The person who looks up to them. (And they’d like it to stay that way, thank you very much.) Rise up! Do it anyway. Shake em off. Start running like hell, and lose ‘em at the turn! Let NO ONE stop you from unleashing YOU, 100% remarkable, distinctive you. You deserve to let yourself have a moment. And frankly it is your responsibility to show the world what you’re really made of, what you’ve really got brewing inside of you! I know you can do it. I will help you do it. And I’m cheering you on all the way! Here are 4 fast ways to stop playing small and start rocking your talk and your biz: 1. Call someone you admire! Step out on a limb a little, call someone you admire…. someone that you don’t know yet. Set up a 30 minute “partnership and support chat”. That’s a 30 minute (or less) chat about how you can help them either directly or indirectly. See if you can connect them to resources, other partners and friends, events, or directly by promoting their next launch. Just offer to help. That’s the first step. *** by the way almost no one actually does this so you will STAND OUT*** 2. Put a workshop on your calendar! Seek to serve your followers and fans in a bigger, brighter way. No more playing small. Time to step up, stand out, and make a big difference, and you can’t do that hiding in your office. You’ve got to be willing to put yourself out there, and in return you’ll feel more inspired, and you’ll be stepping into your talents and gifts. (click here to check out Workshopapalooza) 3. Step your speaking up a level. Not yet speaking to groups? Time to start so you can gain more visibility and create more leads, clients and cash! Speaking locally? Time to spread your wings and fly out of state! Speaking on other people’s stages? Maybe its time you stepped on to your own! (Click here to check out Command Any Room) 4. Add one big list-building event to your marketing calendar. Go for the best partners you can and you’ll not only add to your list, you’ll align yourself with other top leaders in your market. Host a telesummit Live stream a roundtable of experts 30-day challenge Awards “ceremony” Contest Live Stream a free training webinar or intensive Now when you coach with me, you know that beyond the strategies and the tips, we talk about stepping up and into your full power.
As we get ready to start the Event Profit Machine program, I want to share a little more of Andrrea Hess’s inspiring, success story. She’s a good friend of Angella and mine, and a super savvy business woman too. If you don’t know Andrrea already, she is the highest-paid financial psychic in the country… and probably the world! Because it is a simple and amazing plan,
and MANY of you will be able to implement a similar strategy…
so take note! I KNOW…. IT SOUNDS A$$ BACKWARDS at first:
At first glance, you’ll see this is not wildly profitable on the front end, but
don’t under-estimate the power of this sponsorship & live event strategy. The power of this strategy is on the back end. STEP 1: Speak & Sponsor to reach big audiences fast!
Andrrea started out by sponsoring one of Angella Johnson’s events (among others).
With a well-crafted talk, she spoke and made an entry-level,
”easy-to-say-yes-to” $97 offer. STEP 2: Funnel people into YOUR live event!
The bonus for the $97 offer was 2 tickets to her own live event.
Give people the opportunity to experience YOU, your teaching, and your style! STEP 3: Have a follow up strategy
The fortune lies in the follow up! Remember that follow up
helps holds the sale, and keep the excitement up! STEP 4: Deliver great content and make a compelling offer Deliver an amazing, inspiring, content-driven live event,
that converted entry-level clients, into fans and
followers who paid to work with you on a deeper level. This activating this plan Andrrea NETTED a cool $6-figures and enjoyed a recording-breaking boost in revenue. (woot woot!) Already know you’re ready to jump in?
Wowza what a call we had yesterday! That was one rip-roaring, party rockin, Event Profit Machine F.R.E.E training call! Did you miss the call? Click here to listen now. (48 hours left before the recording goes away) Lots of people jumping into the Event Profit Machine program, and lots of great questions too! Jessica from Salt Lake City asks: What is the best way to advertise a small event (30-50 people)? Everyone uses Facebook but I am not sure if it is the most effective way…would you help me? Angella says: Great question Jessica. The best way we can answer this is to direct you to the very end of the call when we talked about the top three ways to fill an event. They work whether you are filling 30-person 1-day workshop or a 3-day 500+ person event. Get started now while you can still enjoy the easy pay! Click here: http://www.eventprofitmachine.com/payday Tulia in Los Angeles asks: What is a fair price for tickets? Angella says: There is a huge range for tickets. It completely depends on your overall profit strategy, how long the event is and who your audience is. If you are marketing to venture capitalists for a week long retreat $10k might be a good price. If you are a healing practitioner with a local 1-day event $50-$150 might be right for you. We’d want to know more about your full profit strategy, audience and upsell before we decide. Debbie McKenzie in Oxnard asks: Are you going to go over what to put in an offer? Or what kind of “Free”" you can offer? Kristin & Angella say: Yes, in our full Event Profit Machine program we will go into what to put in your offer. A free offer could be an invitation to a webinar or teleclass, a free report, or a strategy session. The key with offering something for free is you want to create plan to convert those leads into paying clients. Get started now: http://www.eventprofitmachine.com/payday Helen Luczak in London, Canada asks: Will you talk about how we should dress? Kristin & Angella say: Yes! Our Event Profit Machine bonus content call with Sybil Henry will address this. She is our go-to personal brander and she specializes with working with entrepreneurs who are speakers. Stephanie in New York City asks: What can you do to salvage a “bad sponsorship” experience? Such as the contract states there will be a certain number of people there, and there is nowhere near that. Thank you!! Kristin says: Great question. We’ll talk about some of the key questions you need to ask BEFORE you say yes to a sponsorship or speaking opportunity, and requiring or guaranteeing a certain of attendees is something you can do. You definitely want to protect yourself, when you put your time, energy, and money on the line! So we’ll talk about this more in the program! Gia Cilento in Eastpointe Asks: Do you have to have a published book to be a successful speaker? Kristin says: NO way! If you have a message to share, and something to teach people, then speaking is for you! You don’t need to want to be a “keynote speaker”, you don’t need to go on the road or have a book. We’ll talk more in Event Profit Machine, about how anyone can use speaking to be more visible, and create a rush of new leads, cash and clients. ENROLL NOW for Easy Pay + the Big Bonus Bundles worth over $2500! You can’t lead people if you’re stuck hiding in your office. So this year, its time to rise up, be seen, and make a bigger impact…. all while growing your business by leaps and bounds! We can’t wait to help you get started turning on your own Event Profit Machine. The time is now…. Turn it on! Kristin Thompson & Angella Johnson

Isn’t it about time? Time to step out of the shadows and into the spotlight onto more stages, whether it’s your own stage or someone else’s. Time to play a bigger game and share your message with more people. Time to add more clients, cash and visibility to your business! But if you have ever thought about hosting your own live event, whether it’s an intimate 10-person retreat or a 100+ person multi-day event, or you have wondered about sponsoring or speaking at someone else’s event, there are a few things you REALLY want to know BEFORE you start investing lots of your hard earned time and money. (FREE TRAINING: This Wednesday, February 20th You can join us by clicking here) Here’s the hard part. Most people training you on how to profit from events & sponsorships, are selling you event planner services or event sponsorships. So, it can be challenges to know who’s looking out for you, and who’s looking out for their own best interests. Yet, the fact remains, being on stage (at your own event or someone else’s) positions you as an expert and attracts ideal clients and opportunities to your business, which could result in big paydays. OR you COULD spend up to tens of thousands, even over $100,000, to host your own live event or to speak and sponsor someone else’s event. And sadly you can invest all that time, energy, and money….. AND walk out empty-handed! ACK! But here’s the good news… it doesn’t have to be that way! So here are a few things you’ll want to know (and we’ll cover this in more detail in tomorrow’s free training): >>> When to use which of the seven event type: small workshop, retreat, single day, multi-day and should you have sponsors. >>> How you can host your own event without breaking the bank. >>> When is a speaking sponsorship right for you? >>>> The secret to creating the right content for your workshop or talk. >>> The two big mistakes people make when closing the room that will cause you to leave empty-handed, and how to turn it around. >>> What do to after your event, whether you are hosting, speaking or sponsoring, to double your profits (or more) in 30 days. (FREE TRAINING: This Wednesday, February 20th You can join us by clicking here) I’ve created six figures by sponsoring other people’s events with specific strategies that I’ll be revealing along with my friend and colleague, Angella Johnson, who has created 6-figure profits from hosting her own live events. Together, we are pulling back the curtain and giving you the all-access backstage pass to show you exactly how make big profits from live events, speaking, and event sponsorships! On this FREE training on February 20th, you’ll learn what you need to know so you can make big profits from live events, speaking, and event sponsorships! Even if you’ve tried and failed before, or you’re just getting started and you don’t want to break the bank, you can experience rockin’ results. BONUS: There are even some COOL PRIZES we’re giving away LIVE on the call! (FREE TRAINING: This Wednesday, February 20th You can join us by clicking here)

End “The Lone Wolf Syndrome”: 5 Tips to Step On The Stage Alone, but Leave with Fans, Followers, and Clients! Listen, I don’t want to make you more nervous than you already are about speaking live, but … I want you to know that when you book a gig, you are signing up to be the lone wolf, in a them-versus-you challenge. OwwwwwoOOOOOOOO! THEM: Your audience has an innate bond to one another even if they’ve never met before, simply because they are positioned as a group. People feel safe in groups, and prefer to take action in groups, despite everyone claiming that they like to “think independently”. YOU: As the speaker, you automatically set yourself apart, just by virtue of being the person in charge of the room. Your position of power (physical and otherwise) establishes distance between you and your audience. As a speaker, it IS important to command the room. At the same time, you don’t want to alienate the room either. There is a difference between establishing your expert status, and driving a wedge between you and your audience. Check out these 5 tips for engaging a room to make a connection with your audience: Stories Stick: When you pass on information as a story, it reaches a different part of the brain than regular data. People don’t really make buying decisions with their brains, they make them with their gut. One fast way to connect is to be willing to be vulnerable with your truth, and share your personal story so that people can “know you” better, before your dive into your content. Memory Works in Pictures: If you really people to remember your points, help turn them into pictures through telling stories, or by literally asking them to “picture it”! Vivid & specific details let your audience experience your story with you. Use phrases like: IMAGINE IF!, IMAGINE YOU FINALLY KNEW HOW TO! & PICTURE THIS! Ask Don’t Tell: You change roles for a second when you ask your audience a question. Going to them for information will get their attention, and will engage them in what you’re doing on stage. It also requires them to engage so you want to start asking questions in the beginning of your talk so that they know from the get-go that this talk is one to pay attention to. Use phrases like: How many of you….? By a quick of hands…, Raise your hand if you’ve ever….. Get People Interacting: Try conducting a quick networking activity, exercise, or survey. Have people share their answers with each other or volunteer to share them with the room. This is a great way to change the energy of your talk, and create interaction in the room. As long as YOU LEAD, and don’t let the room get away from you. Shake It Up!: Rather than just providing all the information to your room, make your audience THINK…..REALLY THINK! Try a “Wow!” demo and show em instead of just telling them. Like OxyClean getting stains out, Ginsu Knives cutting through the soda can, or the Crazy Glue guy hanging from the beam high above the ground…. a wow demo gets your attention! Try a shocking statistic, share a thought-provoking quote, shocking picture, or give them a puzzle. Make a great point, in a way that’s WAY MORE INTERESTING than just saying, “Hey! This glue is really strong.” Overcome the them-versus-you challenge by learning to engage your audience while you’re teaching them. When you make an emotional connection, people are much more likely to want to move forward with you. You want your talk to say, “Sit up and listen to me! This is serious stuff.” Make the effort to engage your audience on a variety of levels. Create the connection you need to get everyone on your side, and just watch the difference you make at the back table. Get started learning more about leading your own workshop!
So many events throughout the year. Should you attend? Which ones and why? Here’s the breakdown. Last year, I was a speaker and sponsor at Suzanne Evans’ BE THE CHANGE. The exposure I got from speaking at that event (and the strategy I implemented around it) helped me generate over $55,000 just in the 30 days that followed. BE THE CHANGE was THE EVENT that catapulted my business from $10,000 months to $30,000 months and here are a few tips to help you do the same: #1: SPONSOR &/or SPEAK: If you want to get on that big stage, sometimes its free, sometimes you get paid, and sometimes you’ve got to pay to play! In this case this opportunity paid for itself and then some! (That being said, I had a friend who didn’t speak and generated $15,000 creating new clients over meals.) #2: COME PREPARED WITH A SPECIFIC STRATEGY: So many people leave big events like this empty handed, but it doesn’t have to be that way! If you want to attend Be the Change or speak at it, and PROFIT from your trip, play with the numbers! How many clients & partners would make it worth it to you? >>> Want to join me at Be the Change this year? <<< Click here and you can attend BE THE CHANGE as my special guest. Its not an affiliate link either. I get a small number of people that can come with me for FREE, when its normally $500.00. Purty durn good deal! So click through and click around the site, and you learn all about the event! #3: VISIBILITY IS WORTH SOMETHING TO YOUR BUSINESS: Now I don’t spend my year on the road like some experts and speakers do, because I have a family, and I like to see them! But choosing a few great events to attend is a good idea. Visibility is worth something to you, its a way to stay top of mind, to stand out, and its important to remember…. IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SHOW UP & BE VISIBLE… DON’T WORRY ABOUT IT. SOMEONE ELSE WILL! #4: THE RIGHT PARTNERS CAN CHANGE YOUR BUSINESS Attending a few big events each year, will put you elbow to elbow with some of the biggest players in the game. Last year, I was having a blast connecting with rock stars like Angella Johnson, Monica Shah, Mara Glazer, Max Simon, and more! No one gets big by staying sheltered. Its all about connecting, supporting one another, and working together to grow your business. Rock stars stick together and grow faster together! Woot woot! Click here and you can click around, check it out, and reserve your seat at BE THE CHANGE as my special guest. (heads up! there are just 9 tickets left at the time I am writing this, so hop to it before they are gone!)

So much can go right. And on the other hand, the whole shebang can go sideways in seven seconds flat if you’re not careful. And that’s why I’m giving you lots of great training on this topic in the next couple of weeks. When you fly on your own dime across the country, spend your hard-earned money on nice outfits, and booth goodies, and hotel rooms, the pressure is really on. Why listen to me? The #1 way I generate leads, cash and clients for my business, is through SPEAKING. Not educational talks where I’m teaching, or coachy coaching. I’m talking about speaking gigs where I step to the front of the room, give a talk, and make an offer. Sink or swim. I intentionally still keep my income tied to my speaking results. And I speak at a lots of different types of gigs from Conference Keynotes, Workshops, and Events big and small, so that I can advise you from “real-world, real-life”, in the trenches experience. Here are 5 ways a gig can go wonky on you: 1. The Undermine: Your host starts to think that your sales success is competition for their success, and it becomes “either or” when it ideally it should be “and”. 2. The Tech Train Wreck: You get a last minute schedule change, no sound check, or equipment that doesn’t work. ACK! 3. Funked Up Feng Shui: The room set up is not conducive to selling. u-shaped seating, uncomfortably dark, narrow rooms, or hot, dark rooms in late afternoon. These are signs that converting the room is going to be a challenge. 4. Stranded in the Desert: You’ve paid thousands to have a booth, but there’s no time at your booth, no people in the booth area, and your mouth suddenly begins to feel very, very dry. Are we in the desert? Is that a vulture flying over head? 5. The Cowboy Cop: Your expert status is eroded by the host who interrupts your talk, or talks down to you in the room, or otherwiseerodes your expert status. (There’s only room for one cowboy in this town, little missy) These are true stories from the road. (mine + those of my friends, clients, & colleagues) And here’s the GREAT NEWS…. not ALL stories go this way! So how you can stack the odds in your favor? Here are just a few tips to give you a jumpstart: #1: ACTIONS speak louder than WORDS. Its easy to SAY you want sales to be a win-win, but those who mean it, back it up with ACTION. If the person isn’t really on board with you, your pitch, and how to make it successful, its a sign of what will come to pass at the event. #2 TAKE CARE OF YOU Do not step onto stage without a sound / tech check. Just make it a rule, and stick to it. Don’t ever let someone shove you on the stage unprepared. You need to step on stage, and have what you need, and your host should support you in that too! If not? You take care of you! #3: CREATE YOUR SPACE: You want to know as much as you can about the space, and again if its not ideal, see what you can change. U-shaped seating for instance, does not sell as well as classroom, and it generally only take minutes to shuffle chairs, so take the time sure your room is set up right! Seemingly small details like this add to your profit or diminish it. #4 QUALIFY THE EVENT BEFORE YOU SAY YES I learned this the hard way by “trusting” that an event team would handle things right, and it was an expensivemistake (in time, energy and money). We could go into lots details here, but here are a few things you want to know. Where will the booths be? And how will your host help get people there? Get answers before you say yes. #5 PARTNER WITH PARTNERS Your host can help seed your sale, set up your sale, and build your expert status, or they can chop you off at the knees. Look and listen for the signs ahead of time so you’re partnering with people who have your back and speak highly of you. When you choose the right partner, venue, and opportunity, and you’re strategic about how you handle you can create a HUGE wave of clients, cash, and visibility for your business! With the right planning, the right questions, and the right strategy you can choose the right events for you, and you can create a BIG WIN for you and your host too! p.s. the best way to say thank you to your host? RENEW to speak again + offer a rockin testimonial too!

Find out what people said to me (that might surprise you as much as it did me!) when I arrived at a speaking gig with purple hair! Did you know I wanted to dye my hair for about a year before doing? For the first time ever, I’m sharing what I was so afraid of, what happened when I really did, and what the heck it has to do with you! Take aways: #1 YOUR INTENTION GETS COMMUNICATED: Don’t be afraid to express yourself, take a stand, or share parts of yourself you’re currently hiding. Your ideal clients will feel your true intentions, and it come likely come across, exactly as you meant it to! #2 BE MORE OF YOURSELF & YOU’LL GAIN MORE IDEAL CLIENTS: The more you reveal your true self, the better quality client you’ll attract! You’ll resonate on a deeper level, and create more brand loyalty. #3 WHEN YOU FULLY EXPRESS YOURSELF, YOU WILL SERVE SOMEONE ELSE: Any time we step up, lead, and feel free to be fully authentic, we give others permission to do the same! So if you feel called to share a personal story, express what is normally a more hidden side of yourself, I want to encourage you to explore it more! See what might happen, if you shared that part of you with the world. You just might change someone’s life!
You already know that one of the most important parts of growing your business, is being able to rock your talk in person, from the stage, on teleclasses, webinars, and interviews! It’s a given that your message and your content should have value to your audience, but that’s not the whole picture. People definitely want (and need) to learn from you, but they also want to be entertained, excited, and encouraged. They want to be inspired to overcome their fears and challenges. Here are 4 myths about live speaking that will help you learn to connect with your audiences better than ever. Myth #1: People Buy Content The truth? People say yes to the content through you. As important as it is to consider what to say, you also need to consider how you say it. Do you command the room when you speak? Make sure your talk engages your audience, that it’s styled to provide value, and it positions you as the go-to expert. Myth #2: A Serious, Buttoned Up Demeanor Equals Power The truth? People LOVE getting to know the “real” you with all your quirks. Speakers are often afraid to let their true nature shine in their presentations because they don’t want to seem unprofessional. But your unique personality is part of what gives your message power! So let the real you shine through! Myth #3: Your Talk Must Be Polished Perfectly The Truth? Authentic moments make your talk memorable. Now, I’m not suggesting that you go into a speaking gig without rehearsing your talk. You know me better than that! So go in with a great strategy and plan, but also welcome those authentic moments that naturally arise. Whether you trip up the stairs or lose your place in your PowerPoint, handle it with grace (and humor) and people will connect with your imperfections. Myth #4: If You Command a Room, You’ll Seem Bossy The Truth? Every room needs a leader. When you’re the one on stage, talking to an audience of people who have shown up to learn from you, you are that leader. If you don’t position yourself as such, how will you ever expect them to want to buy from you? You don’t need to get crazy and start acting like a DIVA, but you do need to take control of the room, and care for your audience. Check the room set up, manage the audiences energy, and be prepared for any questions or objections that might come up. When people come to hear you speak, they definitely want to be educated, but you’re going to have to give them much more than that if you want them to buy when you’re finished. Prepare yourself, be yourself and don’t forget: it’s the times when you’re real on stage that make you memorable.
