You’ve probably heard me say…

People make about 11 different assumptions
about you in just 11 seconds.

And this is one of the top reasons why “winging it” is such a bad idea.

Get off to a slow, stumbling start to your teleclass and
you’ll likely see the numbers drop off right before your eyes.

Jump to the front of the room, without a plan
and you can see people reaching for their phones
to check email and test messages.

bored audience

Doh! There goes $1000.00!

While you’re busy winging in, you’re also:

  • Eroding your expert status
  • Diminishing your chances of getting booked again
  • And tossing money out the window.

Imagine you’re hosting a small, free teleclass that’s selling into a relatively inexpensive product… Let’s say $500. You get off to a bad start and 10 people drop from the line.

With a 20% closing ratio you just threw away $1,000.00!

I don’t know about you, but I don’t like to throw away money. And these numbers, in many cases, are going to be MUCH BIGGER.

Below are FOUR simple things you can do to:

  • Get people’s attention
  • Earn their trust
  • Keep their interest
  • Captivate them and get their business!

1. What’s this got to do with ME?
ESTABLISH RELEVANCE:

Everyone wants to know what’s in it for them. This we know for sure. So its always smart to start off being clear about why this topic is worth their time.

2. Who the hell are YOU anyway?
ESTABLISH YOUR EXPERTISE:

Now that they know they want to hear about it, they want to know if they should hear about FROM YOU! Be confident about why you’re the one to watch.

3. Do you ever know we’re out here?
BE ENGAGING:

Acknowledge people, and get them interacting with you right from the get go. If you can create a rapport from the start its much easier to ask your audience to take action later.

So this is especially important if you’re going to make an offer. And you know the rule..

ALWAYS HAVE AN OFFER EVEN IF ITS FREE!

4.  If I have to listen to another lecture I’m going to scream!
LET IT ROCK A LITTLE:

Toss out those old-fashioned ideas about being stiff, and polished and “professional”. What captures people’s attention and interest is YOU. The real you that you’d bring to a dinner party or a third date.

Bring the jokes, the smiles, the sarcasm, and the “cool”.

Bring the vibe that’s uniquely you.

HOW to put this INTO ACTION:

Make a decison today that your introduction will not be your warm up.

Use your introduction to launch your presentation, to create connection you want with your audience, and send everyone on the path to wanting more of what you have to offer.

Be fully present and ready to serve your audiences best interest.

And lastly, have a plan and purpose for what you’re saying and doing.

You won’t regret it!

Have questions? Drop me a line!
I’m waiting to hear from you!
