After a decade of successfully selling advertising for top-rated TV and radio stations, while winning awards at ever major station she worked at, Kristin and her husband decided it was time to start the family they’d been dreaming of.
Yet with this period of blessed excitement came an all-too-common challenge. She was dedicated to only working part-time as a mother, but there were not part-time or job-share sales positions at the station. She started searching for other part-time sales positions and found nothing, other than low-paying hourly jobs.
Kristin found herself up late at night worrying how she’d be able to have a career, earn an income, and start a family. She had never thought about it much previously but suddenly realized that no one wants to hire a pregnant lady.
She felt trapped and afraid, when she should have been celebrating.
Leap and the Net Will Appear
So Kristin took a giant, risky leap out of corporate America and began consulting for a personal development company, where she learned the speak-to-sell format that changed her life.
“I was speaking more times every month than most professional speakers do in a year. I was having a blast, helping people, and making money. I felt blessed.
“With this new skill, I realized that all I needed was to gather 3 people, or 30, or 300, the numbers didn’t really matter, and I had the ability to earn an income. With the launch of her own company, Kristin hit her stride. Her time is now spent helping people and companies shine a light on their expertise, so that they too can not only speak their mission in a way that is profitable but also serve their purpose in a bigger, brighter way that gains them expert status and greater visibility. And, most importantly, Kristin helps people grow their business, so that they can do what they love and make money!
